Now Hiring: Equipment Operator II (Competition #26-35) 

Parkland County has multiple Equipment Operator II positions available in our Road Maintenance & Drainage Department including permanent full-time, seasonal, temporary full-time and casual positions. Reporting to a Road Maintenance Supervisor, your duties will include operating a variety of trucks and road maintenance equipment.  You will perform labour related duties when not operating vehicles or equipment and may be required to work with minimal supervision.  The ability to effectively organize equipment and materials to accomplish objectives in an efficient manner and keep accurate, detailed and legible records is required. 

Requirements

The ideal candidate would have the following: 

  • Minimum two (2) years’ experience operating a variety of equipment including tandem trucks, motor graders, front end loaders, etc. 

  • Valid Alberta Class 3 Operators License with Q (air) endorsement.  Upon hire, a current commercial driver’s abstract must be provided. 

  • Current First Aid Certificate. 

  • Mechanically inclined.

Salary & Benefits

The total rewards package for this position includes: 

An hourly rate of pay of $37.57 based on working 40 hours/week or as required for casual positions. Seasonal positions will work for six to nine months per year and will return every year in April or May, depending on operational requirements.
