Description
The City of Nanaimo is seeking casual Refuse Collector/Operators. Under the direction of the Sanitation & Cemetery Supervisor, the Refuse Collector/Operator operates various refuse collection vehicles to collect garbage, organics, and recycling materials.
Requirements
Applicants must have successfully completed Grade 12 and have a minimum of 3 months’ experience driving a refuse collection vehicle. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. Possession of a valid Class 3 BC Driver’s Licence with Air Endorsement is required.
Salary & Benefits
These are unionized positions, starting at $36.81 per hour and increasing to $38.75 after 60 working days (Jan 2025 Rates). There are no guaranteed hours associated with these positions.
