• Safety footwear is required
• Mechanical inclination is an asset
Travel to remote locations, including overnight travel, may be required.
• High School or equivalent education
• Graduate of, or currently enrolled, in NAIT Water/Wastewater Technician program is an asset
• Possession of Confined Space Entry, Standard First Aid, H2S, Fall Protection, and Ground Disturbance certificates (an asset)
• Skill in using a grease gun, wrenches, screwdrivers, sockets, and other various hand and power tools
• Ability to use computers and electronic equipment
• Experience operating a backhoe and excavating around utilities is an asset
• Knowledge of applicable traffic laws, ordinances, and regulations involved with the operation of equipment
• Knowledge of Alberta OHS Act, Regulations, and Code
• Valid Canadian driver’s license, minimum of Class 5; Driver’s abstract satisfactory to the Employer and Criminal Records check satisfactory to the Employer will be a required as a condition of employment.
Compensation in accordance with the current C.U.P.E. Collective Agreement.
