The District of Saanich is seeking an experienced Supervisor–Public Works for the Waterworks Section. The successful candidate will have extensive maintenance experience, competency in supervising multiple maintenance and leak repair crews while be responsible for assisting the manager in carrying out maintenance programs, safety and supervisory duties related to the day-to-day operations of this section.

Requirements

Requirements include: completion of Grade 12 or equivalent; a two year diploma in related field; minimum of five years progressive experience in a Waterworks related position with a federal, provincial or municipal Public Works Department, or private contractor doing directly related work with similar responsibilities; experience in project management including planning, budgeting, cost estimating and scheduling; minimum of one year supervisory experience in a related operational area; Level III EOCP Certification in Water Distribution; Cross Connection Control Certification; extensive experience and completion of courses / training related to the hydraulics, construction and operation of water distribution system maintenance & SCADA systema operation and maintenance; possession of a valid Class 5 Driver’s License and sufficient health and physical conditioning to permit performance of duties in all types of weather conditions.  Candidates with an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

The successful candidate will work Monday to Friday 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Salary & Benefits
