Requirements

The Public Works Division is seeking multiple labourers to perform manual work requiring considerable physical effort and agility in the performance of a variety of tasks. The duties and responsibilities will include but are not limited to acting as a signalman for truck drivers and equipment operators; directing traffic adjacent to work sites; clearing paths, trails, streets and yards. Qualified candidates will possess a grade 10 education; valid Class 5 BC Driver’s Licence; one-month previous experience and on-the-job training; a valid traffic control certificate; annual renewal of driver’s abstract.  An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Salary & Benefits

This is a C.U.P.E. Local 2011 position with a base wage of $32.06/hour plus 15% in lieu of benefits. Job description and competition information can be found at www.saanich.ca.
