As the Maintenance Supervisor, you will be responsible to oversee the maintenance activities required to maintain Water Treatment facilities: water treatment plants, transmission pumping stations, underground water storage reservoirs, regional water metering stations. Primary duties include:
- Provide sectional leadership as a member of the Maintenance Leadership Team. Contribute to the development of Water Treatment and Maintenance workplans, financial budget forecast and processes. Provide support for operational and business process issues, identify and resolve issues affecting the business, analysis of cost and efficiencies, risk assessment and mitigation, business process improvement, safety and environmental management, employee relations and engagement.
- Conduct annual planning and prioritization for the area as well as participation in the longer-term strategic planning and budget processes.
- Ensure long term needs are identified and that future changes are incorporated into workplans.
- Supervise maintenance staff including Mechanical Forepersons, Electrical Forepersons, Electrical & Instrumentation staff, Millwrights, Heavy duty mechanics, and general support staff.
- Coordinate maintenance activities ensuring that work is done in the most safe, efficient, and effective manner.
- Oversee and assess the completion of Work Orders and Preventative Maintenance, ensuring work is conducted effectively and efficiently.
- Investigate process upsets, equipment failures, safety incidents, root cause analysis and corrective action plans.
- Liaison with internal and external teams. E.g., Operations, Engineering, Maintenance planning, project delivery teams.
- Lead, mentor, develop staff including hiring, performance management, employee development, engagement, and succession planning.
- Manage short term and long-term people resources within Maintenance and coordinate resources with other Water Treatment sections as required.
- Promote a safe workplace by contributing to safety meetings, performing regular workplace inspections and ensure staff are adhering to policies.
- Lead maintenance projects and initiatives as well as participating in projects and initiatives across the section and division.
- A valid Journeyman Millwright or Electrician certificate or equivalent recognized by Alberta Apprenticeship and Industry Training board and at least of 8 years of relevant industrial maintenance experience.
- A valid Class 5 Driver's License (or provincial equivalent) with no more than 6 demerits, or a Graduated Driver's License (GDL) with no more than 4 demerits, with no current suspensions or charges pending.
- A Blue Seal or management certificate would be considered an asset.
- Relevant supervisory experience is required.
- Equivalent combinations of experience and education may be considered.
$115,627 - $144,534 per annum
