The Information Technology Department is seeking a skilled and analytical GIS Analyst to join the Solutions Delivery Division. This permanent full-time role is well suited to a collaborative professional who is passionate about spatial data, system integration, and supporting enterprise-wide GIS initiatives in a dynamic municipal environment.

Reporting to the GIS Coordinator, the GIS Analyst supports the development, maintenance and enhancement of the District’s enterprise GIS environment, including servers, web services and mobile applications. Responsibilities include managing spatial and tabular data, performing geoprocessing and QA/QC activities, supporting web mapping and field workflows, and maintaining enterprise geodatabases. The role also involves developing and providing training and technical support to staff across the organization, troubleshooting GIS issues, developing automation and integration workflows, and supporting interfaces with corporate systems.

Requirements

Requirements include a degree in Geography, Geomatics, Computer Science, or a related discipline with an emphasis on GIS, along with a minimum of four years of progressively responsible experience in an enterprise GIS environment. Candidates must demonstrate strong knowledge of GIS principles, data modelling, and QA/QC practices, as well as proficiency with Esri’s ArcGIS platform (including ArcGIS Pro, Enterprise and Online). Strong communication skills are required for training and support. Experience working with databases, SQL, FME workflows, and scripting (e.g.,Python) will be crucial for this role. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. As a part of this competition process, testing will be conducted. Salary & Benefits
