Reporting to the Food and Beverage Manager, the ideal candidate for this position will act as shift supervisor to lead other cooks, provide direction with regard to food preparation and act in a training capacity. The Cook works to ensure that the food preparation supports the overall organizational goals and atmosphere of the club.
Key Skills and Abilities
- Strong understanding of food safety
- Understanding of food preparation and ability to operate general kitchen equipment
- Hold a full understanding of kitchen operations
- Attention to detail and focus on accuracy with regard to food preparation and presentation
Key Qualifications:
- Grade 12 diploma or equivalent
- 1-3 years of experience working in a fast-paced kitchen
- Certificate in Culinary Arts or comparable education an asset
- FOODSAFE Level 1 Certification an asset
- Experience in catering large functions an asset
- Ability to meet physical demands of the position
This is a seasonal position, with scheduled hours varying through the season (generally ending Thanksgiving weekend). Employees can expect to work on league nights, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, weekends, and special events.
The compensation range is $18.25 – $21.50 per hour and will be based on the successful applicant’s experience.
