Description
The Irrigation Technician ensures effective operations of irrigation equipment by completing repairs and maintenance on the irrigation system.  Reporting to the Grounds Superintendent and working as a key member of the Maintenance Team, this position works to ensure that the irrigation system works efficiently and effectively to support the goals of the club.

Requirements

The applicant should have:

  • Grade 12 Diploma or equivalent
  • Class 5 BC Driver’s License
  • Clear Driving Abstract and Criminal Record check

 

The following skills and experience would be considered an asset;

  • 1 – 2 years relative experience and/or education in a related field (plumber, pipe fitter, sewer, or water work)
  • 2 years golf course maintenance experience
  • Understanding and enjoyment of the game of golf
  • First Aid Certificate
  • Pesticide Applicator Certificate

 

Salary & Benefits

This is a seasonal position, with scheduled hours varying through the season (generally March – October). Hours can be impacted by weather conditions when it impacts ability to perform maintenance activities.  Although there is some schedule flexibility, employees can expect to work weekends and there is limited availability for extended time off during the season.  The successful candidate much be able to perform physical labour, standing for long periods of time and must have sufficient physical strength, stamina, and coordination to permit the performance of medium to heavy manual outdoor work in a variety of weather conditions.

 

The compensation range is $20.73 - $23.32 per hour and will be based on the successful applicant’s experience.
