As the OHS Systems Coordinator, you will: respond to enquiries and requests; manage corporate safety and Workplace Injury Management (WIM) training programs; provide technical advice, guidance and consultancy services to municipal departments to meet legal, regulatory and performance requirements; coordinate OHS related testing (e.g. hearing); develop, review and update safety documentation for low to moderate risk activities; provide technical and administrative support for annual Certificate of Recognition (COR) audit; design, develop and maintain OHS intranet and SharePoint; maintains spreadsheets, software applications and records management system and support Joint Health and Safety Committees and the OHS Division.

Requirements

As a qualified candidate, you will have a health and safety certificate or one-year post-secondary education in health and safety; two years of related experience in health and safety; be proficient in use of related software programs (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Sharepoint, Adobe, etc); Occupational First Aid Level 2 certification; quantitative respirator fit tester qualifications preferred; a valid Class 5 BC Driver’s Licence; an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

The successful candidate will work Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., 37.5 hours per week. As a component of the selection process, testing will be conducted.

Salary & Benefits

This is a C.U.P.E. Local 2011 position with a wage of $37.95 per hour (2024 rate) and offers an excellent benefits package including a generous pension plan and an opportunity to work directly with colleagues throughout the organization.
