• Prepare detailed LRT Signals designs.
• Manage LRT Signals projects and contracts.
• Coordinate project activities with multiple internal and external partners, consultants and contractors.
• Organize and maintain LRT Signals drawings and documentation.
• Provide Signaling support to field crews and operations during trouble calls.
• Carry out root cause failure analysis.
• Develop Scope of Work, Request for Proposals (RFP's) and tender documents for contractors and consultants.
• Assist with conducting crossing inspections.
• Oversee construction of signals upgrades and repair work.
• Provide signals support to other LRT projects such as Track and Way Rehabilitation, life cycle upgrades and extension projects.
• Coordinate with Engineering and Project services team to ensure work permit processes are followed when planning construction activities.
• Ensure compliance with design guidelines, Calgary Transit Standards and codes and regulations.
• Develop signals bypasses and test plans to assist with closure weekend activities.
• Coordinate with drafting personnel for the development of LRT Signal Drawings.
• Collaborate with Signals team for developing key performance indicator reports.
• A degree in Engineering, preferably in Electrical Engineering with at least 3 years of relevant professional engineering experience, obtained after receiving your P. Eng. Designation and a current licensure as a Professional Engineer with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta (APEGA) complete with practicing status OR licensure and practicing status by the first day of work Click here for more details.
• Knowledge of railway signaling principles and safety standards will be essential for success.
• Preference will be given to candidates with some Signaling design experience.
• Familiarity with AutCAD and Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) programming would be considered an asset.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
• Success in this position requires strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a demonstrated ability to work independently while collaborating with team members.
Compensation: Level P3E $115,464 - $144,330 per annum
