The District of Saanich's Parks, Recreation and Community Services Department is seeking a team player to help drive our mission of Healthy Nature, Healthy People, and Healthy Community, while supporting our vision: a Saanich where everyone belongs.

The Cedar Hill Golf Course features a player-friendly 18-hole, 5,200-yard, par 67 course, with picturesque views of the Olympic Mountains. Lead by its dedicated grounds crew, we are proud to share that we are in the process of completing the Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary Program for Golf certification — an award-winning program that helps golf courses protect our environment and preserve the natural heritage of the game of golf.

The Cedar Hill Golf Course is seeking a up to 5 casual Greenskeepers to join our talented grounds team. The successful candidate will be required to perform proper USGA course set up which includes green and tee setup. The  applicant must be able to safely operate course equipment machinery, specifically tractors, triplex and green mowers as well as assist in the maintenance of golf course areas such as shrub beds, waterways, trees, flower beds and lawn turf and rough areas.  

Requirements

Requirements include: Grade 12 or equivalent; six months full time previous experience in golf course maintenance and/or construction as a labourer and a valid Class 5 B.C. Driver’s Licence. The successful candidate will have a solid understanding of the rules of golf and how they relate to course maintenance.  An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered

The schedule includes varying hours of work including early mornings, weekends and holidays, with a minimum of 14 hours per week. As a component of the selection process, testing will be conducted. Only those under consideration will be contacted.

Salary & Benefits
