Cedar Hill Golf Course is one of Greater Victoria’s most popular municipal courses, offering beautiful fairways and a strong sense of community for golfers of all levels. The District of Saanich is currently seeking a dedicated Golf Course Irrigation Technician to support the efficient operation and maintenance of our irrigation systems and turf care activities. This role plays a key part in ensuring optimal playing conditions through the effective management of water resources and the safe application of fertilizers and chemicals.

The Golf Course Irrigation Technician will be responsible for operating and maintaining the computerized irrigation system and pump station, installing and repairing sprinkler heads and irrigation satellites, setting watering programs, and ensuring environmental compliance when applying fertilizers and pesticides. This is a hands-on, outdoor role requiring precision, attention to detail, and knowledge of industry standards in turf management and irrigation practices.

Requirements

Requirements include: Grade 12 or equivalent, plus a 2-year Diploma in Turf Management from a recognized institute; Irrigation Association of BC Level 2 certification; two years of related experience, including pump station operations and golf course maintenance; and a valid Class 5 BC Driver’s Licence. A BC Pesticide License is also required. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. Testing will be conducted. We thank all applicants for applying. Salary & Benefits
