The Purchasing Division is recruiting for a permanent full time Storeskeeper to assist the Stores Supervisor in the operation of municipal stores located in the Public Works/Parks Yard. Performing storeskeeping duties that include ordering, receiving and issuing a wide range of materials, tools and equipment within the framework of inventory control and management best practices and purchasing administrative policies. With the significant growth in the capital budget over the past decade, combined with an ever growing need to supply the right goods, at the right time, at the right place to work groups; the importance of providing high-quality supply chain services to the various areas of the municipality has grown.

The Stores Supervisor receives, inspects quality, records, stores, and issues a variety of materials, tools and supplies, and will place orders stock items to maintain adequate stock levels according to reorder points, known or anticipated demand, and customer requests in compliance with guidelines and procedures. The successful candidate organizes stores related systems and procedures, coordinates the flow of information, documents and product. 

The ideal candidate will have extensive warehousing and inventory control experience, customer service aptitude, and knowledge and the ability to operate warehouse machinery. This is a “working position” and will perform supervision as well as day-to-day warehouse operation.

Requirements

Requirements include: Grade 12; two years of directly related experience; CPIM Version 6.0 Part 1: Basics of Supply Chain Management or two accredited courses related to Supply Chain Management (Supply Chain Management Association (SCMA) or American Production and Inventory Control Society (APICS)); and a valid Class 5 BC Driver's Licence. The successful candidate will have or be able to obtain a valid Backhoe and Forklift Operator Certification, as well as a Propane Dispensing Certification. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. The successful candidate will be required to work Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.

Salary & Benefits
