Position Overview
An exciting and challenging opportunity exists for a temporary, full-time Millwright with the City of Kamloops! The successful candidate performs highly skilled mechanical maintenance work. Work involves the installation, maintenance and repair of City water and wastewater pumps and drives, water chlorinators, reservoir pumps, control valves, water and sewer plant equipment and building mechanical.

Successful candidates must have the following qualifications:
- Completion of senior secondary school or its equivalent.
- Completion of Industrial Mechanic (Millwright) Qualification and Interprovincial Red Seal endorsement.
- Previous welding experience.
- Valid BC Driver’s Licence - Class 5.
- Minimum three years’ recent (within the last five years) experience in a mechanical background, including a good knowledge of pumping equipment and pumps and currently working in the trade.
This is a temporary position until approximately October 31, 2025 or return of incumbent.
For new hires, and for those working in designated positions of trust, including those working directly with vulnerable persons, no formal offer of employment will be made until an applicant completes a police information check. This position will receive 14% in lieu of all benefits, vacation, stat holidays, and health time. This is a CUPE local 900 position.
