Position Overview
The City of Kamloops is seeking a skilled and organized Crew Leader – Civic Facilities to oversee the maintenance, repair, and operations of civic facilities. In this pivotal role, you will take charge of coordinating and leading a team of dedicated workers, ensuring projects are completed on time and to the highest standards. The successful candidate must have the following qualifications:
- Completion of a Red Seal Trade Qualification in Carpentry, Electrical, Plumbing or HVAC.
- Minimum four years’ previous experience in a facility management role or equivalent demonstrated experience.
- Minimum one years’ previous supervisory experience with demonstrated leadership qualities.
- Valid BC Driver's License - Class 5.
- Proficient in intermediate Word and advanced Excel as demonstrated through testing. (70% pass rate required.)
- Ability to obtain WorkSafe BC accredited asbestos training to perform asbestos surveys within 12 months after starting in the position.
- Ability to obtain and maintain an RCMP Reliability Security Clearance.
For new hires, and for those working in designated positions of trust, including those working directly with vulnerable persons, no formal offer of employment will be made until an applicant completes a police information check. A comprehensive benefits package is included with this position. This is a CUPE local 900 position.
Please note that this is a new job classification, and the pay grade is subject to agreement between the Employer and the Union.
