Join our dynamic team as we ensure patrons' safety and enhance their recreational experiences within our Parks & Recreation facilities. As a vital member of our unionized staff, you'll oversee a variety of engaging programs, from after-school sessions to exhilarating summer day camps and special events. Your role is not just about supervision; it's about fostering a sense of community, promoting wellness, and creating memorable moments for all who use our services.

Our ideal candidate:
As a Program Attendant, you will be responsible for:

  • Proactively creating a safe and welcoming environment for all patrons.
  • Educating patrons about recreation programs, equipment, and facility services, ensuring they have a positive experience.
  • Collaborating closely with operations, fitness, and customer service staff to ensure smooth facility operations.
  • Thriving in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, quickly adapting to changes and challenges as they arise.
  • Acting as a role model by promoting health and wellness while maintaining a professional and positive attitude.

What you bring:

  • Knowledge of the safe and proper use of fitness, sports, and recreation equipment.
  • Commitment to promoting a healthy and active lifestyle.
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to adapt to a high-paced environment.
  • Proven ability to handle difficult situations calmly and rationally.
  • A positive, can-do attitude and excellent communication skills.

Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Successful completion of Grade 12 or a high school equivalency diploma.
  • Current CPR and Standard First Aid certifications.
  • Experience in recreation programming or day camps is an asset.
  • An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be considered.
