Are you passionate about creating a safe, fun, and nurturing environment for young children? At the City of Medicine Hat, we're looking for a dedicated Program Leader to join our team and enrich the lives of our youngest residents. In this role, you will be responsible for leading the planning and delivery of an engaging child-minding program at our Big Marble Go Centre for infants and children aged 3 months to 7 years. Your leadership will ensure their safety, wellbeing, and enjoyment, while also supporting a range of recreational activities. Our ideal candidate:
As a Program Leader, you will be responsible for:

  • Planning, organizing, and leading the child minding program for children aged 3 months to 7 years.
  • Ensuring the safety, security, and wellbeing of all children in your care.
  • Creating engaging, interactive play experiences that promote learning and development.
  • Communicating effectively with parents, caregivers, and team members to ensure the needs of the children are met.
  • Maintaining a clean, organized, and safe environment, following health and safety protocols.
  • Providing exceptional customer service to families.

What you bring:

  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build positive relationships with children and families.
  • Demonstrated leadership and organizational skills to manage program delivery and keep accurate records.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and a commitment to providing exceptional service.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Office and the willingness to learn city-specific software.
  • Flexibility to work days, evenings, and weekends.

 

Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Successful completion of Grade 12 or high school equivalency diploma.
  • Six (6) months of general experience in Parks and Recreation programming or a related field.
  • Must be of minimum age (18).
  • Possess and maintain a valid Class 5 Driver's License, with an acceptable driving record.
  • Preference will be given to candidates with current CPR and Standard First Aid Certificate C.
  • An equivalent combination of training and experience may be considered.
