About the Role:

Reporting to the Manager of Operations Administration, the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) Administrator is responsible for managing the Cityworks system—a comprehensive asset, and work management system. This role is essential in ensuring effective operation and ongoing enhancement of Cityworks to meet the City's capital assets and infrastructure management needs. Overall, the CMMS Administrator ensures that the system effectively meets operational standards and strategic goals of the Municipal Works Department, enhancing service delivery and operational efficiency across the City.

What You Will be Doing:

  • Manage and configure system settings and functionalities to ensure optimal operation.
  • Update and maintain activity templates for service requests, work orders, and inspections.
  • Update and maintain non-spatial assets, and costing information for labor, hourly usage, and non-inventoried materials.
  • Handle security settings and employee configuration updates as organizational changes occur.
  • Perform analysis utilizing SQL Server Management Studio for decision making.
  • Create and modify custom reports using Cityworks ActiveReports, Crystal Reports, ArcGIS Dashboards, or ArcGIS Insights.
  • Oversee the integrity of data within Cityworks by providing regular QA/QC activities to include financial error report monitoring and inventory audits.
  • Conduct regular training sessions for new and existing users and develop and update training materials as the system evolves.
  • Troubleshoot and remediate issues between Cityworks and other interfaced programs.
  • Act as the primary liaison between end-users, IT, Finance, and external partners like ESRI Canada and the Regional Municipality of Niagara Lead and attend operational working groups and implement opportunities for improved system usage across departments.
  • Perform other similar and related duties as assigned.

Requirements

About You:

Qualifications:

  • Three (3) year College Diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science/ Engineering/ Systems, Geographic Information Systems (GIS) / Geomatics, or a related field.
  • Five (5) years of current experience in an IT field including experience relevant to managing and operating a complex IT and asset management system such as Cityworks, preferably within Operations or a Public works yard.
  • Experience developing training materials and conducting training sessions for a variety of users.
  • Experience with project management tools and methodologies related to system upgrades, integrations, and enhancements.

Skills:

  • Knowledge of CMMS platform management, including setting up and customizing activity templates, managing data configurations, and understanding the integration with GIS (specifically ESRI) technologies.
  • Proficient in SQL for database queries, report creation, and managing data integrity. Intermediate SQL course required (or willing to obtain).
  • Knowledge of integrating CMMSs with other municipal systems like financial, HR, and operational systems.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills for customer service and preparation of technical and instructional documentation.

Other Requirements:

  • Proven completion of Ministry of Labour Worker Health and Safety Awareness training.
  • A demonstrated commitment to enhancing a safety culture.
  • Proof of education will be required upon hire.
