Description
Parkland County has an opportunity for a permanent, full-time Director position in the Growth & Strategy Department. Reporting to the General Manager, Development Services, the Director, Growth & Strategy is responsible for providing leadership in all aspects of strategic growth including economic diversification, engagement, government relations, and corporate planning. This position will oversee the Economic Growth and Strategy & Engagement service areas including the responsibilities of budgeting, department planning, staff management, policy development, programs and initiatives. This position works closely with executive committee to identify opportunities to diversify Parkland County’s economic base and establish systems and projects to realize these opportunities.

Requirements

The ideal candidate for this position will have the following:

• Post-Secondary Diploma or Degree in Communications, Public Relations, Business, Social Sciences, or a related field.
• Minimum of ten (10) years of progressive experience directly related to working in a strategic growth setting with focus on initiative execution and overseeing multi-disciplined teams.
• Supervision or management experience with proven ability to support and motivate staff with varying levels of expertise.
• Excellent public relations skills with the proven ability to build effective working relationships with internal and external collaborators.
• Effective oral and written communication skills, report writing and presentation skills.
• Experience in managerial accounting and budget overview.
• Possession of a valid Alberta driver’s license and satisfactory driving record is required.

Salary & Benefits

The total rewards package for this position includes:

A starting annual salary of $132,500 to $165,600 based on a 35-hour work week and option to join the Earned Day Off Program.
