Now Hiring: Advisor, Economic Growth (Competition #24-52)

Parkland County has an opportunity for a temporary, full-time Advisor, Economic Growth position in the Growth & Strategy Services Department until approximately March 2026.  Reporting to the Manager, Economic Growth, the Advisor actively contributes to the business attraction, growth and retention activities that enrich the County’s economic growth and diversification goals. Through a customer-centric approach, the Advisor acts as a conduit for businesses, developers, investors, brokers, and external agencies providing information, recommendations, and connections with other county departments.

Requirements

The ideal candidate for this position will have the following:

  • Post-Secondary Diploma in Business, Marketing, Economic Development, Planning, or a related field is required. A Degree in a related field would be considered an asset.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of related experience in business development, business attraction & retention or development planning.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills.
  • Strong relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to remain diplomatic and tactful when dealing with the public.
  • Computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office and SharePoint, and ability to quickly learn and adapt to new programs.
  • Possession of a valid Alberta driver’s license and satisfactory driving record is required.
Salary & Benefits

The total rewards package for this position includes:

A starting annual salary of $74,800 to $93,500 based on a 35-hour work week and the option to join the Earned Day Off Program.
