About You / What We Are Looking For

 

Our Public Works team is currently looking for a regular, full-time Recycling Depot Operator for the City’s Town Centre Park Recycling Depot. This position is responsible for ensuring the cleanliness and order of the Depot, ensuring recyclables are properly sorted, and maintaining records. You will also provide assistance and recycling information to members of the public, ensure the removal of materials by contractors, and participate in investigations of illegal dumping at the Depot. This is a great opportunity for someone who thrives working outside and independently and is committed to providing great customer service to the residents of Coquitlam.

 

Minimum Qualifications

 

In addition to a demonstrated ability to work well independently, candidates must possess excellent customer service and communication skills. Candidates must have related knowledge of recycling activities and have experience with data recording and entry. Completion of Grade 12 is required. Candidates must be comfortable working outside in all types of weather conditions and be able to work Wednesdays to Sundays, 10 am to 6 pm.

This CUPE position has an hourly rate of $34.86. The rate of pay is based on a variety of factors including qualifications, knowledge, experience and skills.

Additionally, there is an opportunity to participate in an earned day off/flex day program. This position is based in Coquitlam.
