Our employees provide over 64,000 residents with high-quality programs and services and are proud to contribute to making St. Albert one of the best places to live in Canada.

If you are seeking a position that offers diverse projects, and an opportunity to be part of a highly effective and supportive team, then you may want to consider joining the City of St. Albert Capital Projects Office. The City of St. Albert’s Capital Projects Office (CPO) is responsible for planning, budgeting and managing major capital projects from the initial concept phase, through the design and construction to the end of the project. These projects include all new construction and major rehabilitation to the City's roadways, utilities, buildings and recreational parks and facilities.

As the Senior Project Manager, you will work as part of a team to ensure the on time and on budget delivery of high profile and complex capital projects. You will be directly responsible for the successful completion of capital projects from initiation through completion, including planning, budgeting, design review, tender review, construction coordination, contract administration, field inspection, construction completion and final acceptances. You will provide project management leadership and guidance to intermediate and junior project managers. You will also liaise with other City departments, and assist them in their project duties, to ensure a consistent project management approach throughout the organization. The Senior Project Manager will also maintain project management tools, such as project cost and risk databases, that are used to prepare business cases for the budget process.

The individual we seek is team-oriented and personable, with strong communication skills. We are looking for someone who is solution-oriented, has good judgement and thrives in a dynamic work environment. Maintaining excellent customer relations and a high level of service satisfaction is necessary for success in this role. Maintaining and promoting a continuous focus on a high degree of safety during all aspects of the construction process is required.
