The ideal candidate will have completed Grade 12 and possess a minimum of three (3) years of directly related experience. A Level 1 First Aid certification is preferred, or the ability to obtain certification within six (6) months of hire. The successful applicant will have knowledge of CSA Playground Structure Guidelines, be certified to operate a tractor equipped with a 72-inch mower. Due to the nature of the work, the Parks Worker 2 – Special Events position requires flexibility to work outside of traditional business hours and the ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions. Following established safety protocol, the incumbent may be exposed to unpleasant waste materials and other biohazards in the course of their duties. You must possess a valid Class 5 BC Driver's License (or provincial equivalent) and be able to obtain and maintain a clear Police Information Check relevant to the position.
