Saanich Commonwealth Place is seeking enthusiastic and certified Instructor III - Aquafit Instructors to deliver safe, engaging, and well-organized aquatic fitness programs. This role is ideal for instructors who enjoy motivating participants, creating a welcoming recreation environment, and delivering high-quality instruction while supporting participant safety and enjoyment.
Under the general direction of a Recreation Programmer or Program Technician, the Instructor III - Aquafit Instructor provides direct instruction, leadership, and program management for Aquafit classes. Responsibilities include preparing the program area and equipment, developing class content, delivering instruction in a safe and organized manner, welcoming and providing feedback to participants, maintaining accurate attendance records and reports, ensuring equipment is safely stored following each class, maintaining a safe and clean work environment, and attending scheduled in-service training.
Requirements include completion of Grade 10, a minimum of three months of experience in the area of instruction, and current certification and training in Aquafit instruction in accordance with industry standards. Emergency First Aid and CPR-C are required as applicable to the assignment. Employment is subject to provision of a satisfactory Police Information Check with Vulnerable Sector (PIC-VS) check no older than six months, with renewal required as per policy.
