The Accounts Receivable Clerk supports the Municipality’s revenue and receivable functions by processing receivable payments, processing tax billing and assisting tax sales, overseeing daily cash verification, and providing support for finance and customer service operations. This role also serves as a backup to the Utility Clerk, supporting billing and collections for the Municipality's utility accounts.
Qualifications and Expectations
Education: Candidates for this position must possess a certificate or diploma in business, accounting, finance, or a similar educational program. A certificate in Local Government Finance is an asset.
Experience: Candidates must have a minimum of 3-5 years’ experience working with accounting software, journal entries, processing payments, and financial analysis. Preference will be given to those whose experience in a public sector environment with municipal property taxation or utility billing.
Knowledge: Strong understanding of municipal finance, taxation, and accounting, including Public Sector Accounting Standards (PSAS).
Requirements: Candidates must obtain a criminal records check to work for the Municipality of the County of Annapolis. This position will occasionally require work outside of normal office hours including evenings and weekends.

Rate of Pay: Pay Band 3 $53,735.75 - $67,707.01
