Parks, Recreation and Community Services is seeking an experienced and hands-on Technical and Building Service Supervisor to join the Recreation Division at Cedar Hill Campus. This permanent full-time position is well suited to a collaborative leader who brings strong technical expertise, supervisory experience, and a commitment to maintaining safe, efficient, and well-operated recreation facilities. Cedar Hill Campus includes the Cedar Hill Recreation Centre and Cedar Hill Golf Course located within Cedar Hill Park. The Cedar Hill Campus is a 53-hectare municipal park with 10 buildings and other structures on site that support campus operations.
Reporting to the Recreation Centre Manager and Assistant Manager , the Technical and Building Service Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day maintenance and operation of building systems, mechanical equipment, and custodial services. The role includes supervising and scheduling staff, coordinating preventative maintenance and asset management programs, supporting facility operations and special events, and ensuring compliance with occupational health and safety regulations. The Supervisor also manages contractor services, oversees building maintenance projects, supports budget planning, and ensures minimal disruption to facility programs and services. The Building Services Supervisor reports directly to this position.
Requirements include completion of Grade 12, along with a minimum of four years of experience in physical plant maintenance within recreation or commercial facilities, including at least one year in a supervisory capacity. Candidates must possess a valid WHMIS certification, a Fifth Class Power Engineering certificate, and a valid Class 5 B.C. Driver’s Licence. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong leadership, organizational and problem-solving skills, and a commitment to maintaining safe and efficient facility operations. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
The successful candidates will be required to work varying shifts including early mornings, evenings, and weekends (hours/shifts are subject to change).
