Qualifications include Completion of Grade 12, supplemented by EOCP Certification - Operator in Training and some experience in construction, maintenance, or utility system operations, or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Working knowledge of water distribution systems, wastewater collection systems and storm systems including operational principles and maintenance procedures; of methods, techniques, tools, and materials used in construction, maintenance, and public works operations. Ability to learn and operate various tools and equipment safely and effectively; to perform a variety of unskilled and semi-skilled tasks requiring physical stamina, strength, and coordination; to interact effectively with team members, supervisors, and the public; to perform the required duties, including lifting heavy equipment and working in various weather conditions. A valid Class 5 Driver's License for the Province of British Columbia is required.
