About the Role

We are looking for a maintenance supervisor to lead and support the maintenance team in delivering preventive, corrective, routine, and on‑demand maintenance services for treatment plant facilities. In this role, you will ensure maintenance activities are performed safely, efficiently, and in alignment with established processes, best practices, and all applicable internal and external requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the maintenance team and contractor activities and performance
  • Adhering to Aquatera’s asset management policy and standards
  • Overseeing the maintenance of work order records within computerized management maintenance software (CMMS); initiating documents to obtain formal approval of work required
  • Coordinating and assisting in the implementation of preventative maintenance program
  • Ensuring that deficiencies are identified, recorded and escalated, and that related documentations are maintained
  • Coordinating and participating in facility-related projects
  • Supervising and interacting with contractors as part of facility-related contracts 
  • Providing, participating in and supporting training, safety meetings, operational meetings, toolbox talks, etc.
  • Reviewing reports, design drawings, as-built, contract specifications and providing comments and recommendations on maintenance components
  • Reviewing capital plan and make recommendations for additions, deletions and project timing on maintenance components
  • Assisting with emergency response coordination
Requirements

Qualifications and Required Skills

  • Electrical and/or mechanical engineering background or designation would be an asset; Journeyman Certified Electrician, Instrumentation or Millwright (Red Seal) preferred
  • CMMS experience is an asset
  • Facility operations and maintenance work experience
  • Experience supervising in a union environment
  • Ability to adhere to processes and practices relating to facility operations and maintenance
  • Ability to maintain and repair mechanical, electrical, and control systems
  • Mechanical, electrical, and control system troubleshooting skills
  • Possess a high level of environmental, health and safety mindset and ability to perform work in a safe manner
  • Possess strong client-service orientation along with a high sense of urgency
  • Support and participate in a culture of continuous improvement
  • Effective communication skills for the purpose of data relay, exchange, feedback, and clarification

Conditions of Employment 

  • Valid Class 5 driver’s license and satisfactory driver’s abstract
  • Pass 50 lb. fitness test
  • Pass comprehensive drug and alcohol test
