Now Hiring: Customer Service Summer Student (Competition #26-24)

Parkland County has a temporary, full-time position for a Customer Service Student working from approximately end of April to end of August 2026 in the Communications & Customer Service Department. Reporting to the Supervisor, Customer Service, the Summer Student works as part of a team to provide prompt and courteous service, as a first point of contact to the public on behalf of Parkland County. The Customer Service Summer Student responds to a limited scope of various customer inquiries, complaints, and transactions including the processing of payments and receivables. This position requires excellent administrative, customer service and de-escalation skills and the ability to problem solve and multi-task in a fast-paced, customer-centric environment.  

Requirements

The ideal candidate would have the following:

  • Enrolled in a post-secondary education program with a focus on Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Communications, Public Administration or related.
  • Excellent customer service, communication and de-escalation skills.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite.
  • General business administration knowledge.
  • Excellent time management skills as well as the ability to prioritize responsibilities.
Salary & Benefits

The total rewards package for this position includes:

An hourly rate of pay of $25.82 based on a 35-hour work week with flexible scheduling availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
