Working within the Public Works department and reporting to the Equipment Maintenance Supervisor, the Parts Technician, Fleet Equipment & Repairs completes inventory management to support the maintenance team. This position will manage and dispense parts inventory and is responsible for the daily activities and coordination of the Fleet parts counter, including creating, maintaining and processing work orders and purchase orders.
The ideal candidate for this position will have the following:
- Parts Technician Tradesperson’s Certificate or related.
- Minimum of two (2) to four (4) years of related experience working as a parts technician in heavy equipment and vehicle environment.
- Experience with parts and maintenance software and purchasing programs.
- Experience in inventory planning.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to maintain effective, courteous and tactful service relationships with internal customers and external suppliers.
Requirements:
- Ability to primarily work in-person at County Services Building – 2700 48 Street, Stony Plain AB.
- A valid class 5 driver’s license and current, satisfactory commercial driver’s abstract provided upon hire.
- A satisfactory Criminal Record Check is required upon hire, excluding candidates under the age of 18 and current Parkland County employees.
- Must be legally eligible to work in Canada.

Rate of Pay: $38.76 per hour
This position is within scope of the current collective agreement between Parkland County and The International Union of Operating Engineers – Local 955.
