Now Hiring: Engineering Summer Students (#26-18)
Parkland County has an opportunity for two temporary, full-time Engineering Summer Student positions in the Engineering department, working from May 4, 2026, until approximately August 28, 2026. Reporting to the Asset Management Coordinator, the Engineering Summer Students will perform duties which include collecting roadway inventory, roadway surface condition data then summarizing field data into an asset management database utilizing mobile hardware. These positions will be required to utilize database software, Geographic Interface System (GIS) Technology, and other programs to collect, input, analyze, and display data for all asset types as required. Additionally, these positions may be required to support project managers in the Engineering department by attending site visits, producing inspection reports, reviewing submittals, and other tasks as needed.
The ideal candidate will have the following:

High-school Diploma and currently enrolled in an Engineering related post-secondary education program.

A minimum of two (2) years of experience using Microsoft Office programs with exposure to database and GIS systems.

Proficient with computer applications and data entry.

Able to communicate clearly and professionally while maintaining a high standard of customer service.

Demonstrates strong self‑management skills, including the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.

Must have a Class 5 Driver’s License. A current Driver’s Abstract must be provided.
The total rewards package for this position includes:
An hourly rate of pay of $22.60 to $25.38, working 40 hours per week.
