About the Role

We are seeking a skilled journeyman millwright, heavy duty mechanic, or plumber to support the maintenance, repair, and optimization of our water and wastewater treatment facilities. This role is essential in ensuring our equipment and systems operate safely, reliably, and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

  • Learn and maintain all equipment related to water and wastewater treatment facilities.
  • Initiate and/or perform preventive and corrective maintenance on facility equipment.
  • Assess, troubleshoot, and repair equipment including pumps, centrifuges, generators, and other mechanical systems.
  • Participate in the on‑call rotation, including responding to after‑hours emergencies when required.
  • Assist in developing and implementing safe work procedures for equipment operation and scheduled maintenance.
  • Perform all duties safely while demonstrating excellent housekeeping practices.
  • Work collaboratively with field and plant operators to complete equipment repairs and maintenance using safe work procedures and industry best practices.
  • Demonstrate commitment to Aquatera’s principles and values.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the maintenance supervisor or designate
Requirements

Qualifications and Required Skills

  • Legally entitled to work in Canada without limitations.
  • Journeyman certification as a millwright, heavy equipment technician, or plumber.
  • Dual‑ticket certification is an asset; third‑ or fourth‑year apprentices may also be considered.
  • Education and/or certification related to mechanical maintenance.
  • A minimum of three years of mechanical maintenance experience.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and effective problem‑solving skills.
  • Knowledge of best practices related to preventive maintenance systems.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in reading P&IDs and single‑line drawings.
  • Self‑motivation, strong organizational skills, and a commitment to safety.
  • Ability to travel to remote locations, including occasional overnight travel.

Conditions of Employment 

  • Valid Class 5 driver’s license and satisfactory driver’s abstract
  • Pass 50 lb. fitness test
  • Pass comprehensive drug and alcohol test
