The District of Saanich’s Parks, Recreation and Community Services Department is seeking a team player to help drive our mission of Healthy People, Healthy Places and Healthy Community, while supporting our vision: a Saanich where everyone belongs.

The Parks, Recreation and Community Services Department, Community Services Division – Volunteer Services, is looking for a friendly, organized, and service-oriented Recreation Receptionist.

As a Recreation Receptionist, you will perform a variety of administrative and communication tasks within the volunteer program. These may include: receiving and filing onboarding documents, digitizing old records, supporting volunteers in completing the onboarding process, using the Better Impact volunteer management system to log hours and update activities, templates, and training modules, answering general questions from the public, preparing promotional materials, and using a variety of feedback and scheduling tools (eg. Microsoft Forms, Outlook) to support the scheduling of interviews, check-in meetings, and/or recognition events. This role is office-based and will be located at the Municipal Hall Annex. The position requires strong customer service skills (both internal and external), attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks.

Requirements

Requirements include Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent, with a minimum of six months’ experience working in an administrative office environment that includes reception counter duties. Proficiency in Microsoft Office is required. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. The successful candidate will also demonstrate a holistic perspective on the value of volunteerism in Saanich community spaces. Experience with Better Impact an asset.  

The successful candidate will be required to work one regularly scheduled day per week (Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday from 9:30am – 4:30pm). The ideal start date is March 31 - Apr 2, and the anticipated end date is mid-August. Salary & Benefits
