Description
Parkland County has Maintenance Service Worker II positions available in our Road Maintenance & Drainage Department including seasonal, temporary and casual positions. Reporting to the Supervisor, Drainage or the Supervisor, Road Maintenance, you will provide hands-on semi-skilled or manual labour and related duties in the maintenance of the overland drainage systems or roads and infrastructure in Parkland County.

Requirements

The ideal candidate would have the following:

  • Related labour experience, including using and maintaining various hand and power tools and equipment.
  • Capable of performing physical labour duties as required.
  • Experience in drainage-related construction such as culvert installation, ditching and bridge repairs or familiarity with road maintenance equipment and procedures would be considered an asset.
  • Heavy equipment operating experience is an asset.
  • Ability to work independently, to communicate effectively with the public and other staff, and keep legible records.
  • Valid Alberta Class 5 Driver’s License is required; a Class 3 Operator’s License with Q (air) endorsement is desirable.  Upon hire, a current commercial driver’s abstract must be provided.
Salary & Benefits

The total rewards package for this position includes:

An hourly rate of pay of $29.66 based on working 8 hours/day or as required for casual positions.

Seasonal positions will work approximately March to October every year. Temporary and casual positions will have a set length of employment that may be extended depending on operational requirements.
