Description
As the Leader, Workplace Solutions you are responsible for the quantity and quality of the office accommodation portfolio. This position will lead the team that works strategically with the corporation and business units to effectively leverage office space, actively manage our accommodation assets and to solve business challenges through space solutions.

Primary Duties include:

  • Responsible space stewardship of corporate administrative space, the leader of the Workplace Solutions Team (WPS) will balance and align the needs of business units with corporate standards and direction.
  • Develop the new Workplace Strategy to ensure cost efficiency, consistency in delivery of quality of service, and equity across the Corporation.
  • Provide strategic and operational leadership/direction to the corporation for all workplace accommodation planning, including flex work, future of work, as well as the development of policy, workplace strategy and standards.
  • Direct a team of over 10 professional staff and a variety of external consultants responsible for all civic space and accommodation projects and programs, consisting of both City owned and City Leased accommodation space in over 100 buildings.
  • Represent the City to external vendors, and partners.
  • Manage and maintain client relationships.
  • Responsible to achieve and report on business unit and divisional key performance indicators and metrics.
Requirements
  • A completed 2 year diploma in a related field and at least 10 years of experience in commercial interior design; OR
  • A degree in Interior Design, Architecture, Engineering, Planning or a related field and at least 8 years of experience in commercial interior design.
  • At least 2 years of experience in corporate accommodations.
  • Previous experience with project management and program development is required.
  • Equivalent combinations of experience and education may be considered.
  • Previous experience developing, monitoring and tracking operating/capital budgets will be considered an asset.
  • National Council for Interior Design Qualification (NCIDQ) certification, or Licensed Interior Designer will be considered an asset.
  • Success in this position requires skills in leadership, mentoring and business continuity planning.
  • Strong relationship building, communication and reporting skills.
Salary & Benefits
  • Compensation: Level M2 $130,400 - 163,000 per annum
  • Hours of work: Standard 35 hour work week
