The District of Saanich's Parks, Recreation and Community Services department is seeking a team player to help drive our mission of Healthy Nature, Healthy People, and Healthy Community, while supporting our vision: a Saanich where everyone belongs.

We are currently seeking experienced and passionate Instructor IIIs – Fitness (Indoor Cycle) to lead high-energy cycling classes at Saanich Commonwealth Place, Gordon Head, and G.R. Pearkes Recreation Centres. Instructors are responsible for developing and delivering fun, safe, and effective indoor cycle workouts that are inclusive of all skill levels. This includes creating class outlines, setting up and maintaining equipment, welcoming participants, tracking attendance, and maintaining a positive and motivating class environment.

Requirements

Requirements include completion of Grade 10, a minimum of three months’ experience leading indoor cycle or related fitness programs, and certification in indoor cycling instruction in accordance with industry standards (e.g., BCRPA, Schwinn, CanFitPro). Emergency First Aid and CPR-C are required, as well as a satisfactory Police Information Check with Vulnerable Sector (PIC-VS) dated within the last 6 months. Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to adapt programs to meet diverse needs are essential.

Successful candidates will be required to work varying shifts including daytime, evenings, and weekends (hours/shifts are subject to change). As a component of this competition testing will be conducted. Although we thank all applicants for applying, only those selected for an interview will be contacted.

Salary & Benefits

This is a C.U.P.E. Local 2011 position with a wage of $29.51 per hour plus 15% ($4.42) in lieu of benefits.
