Description
The City of Dawson Creek invites applications for part-time Aquatics Lifeguards. Under the general supervision of the Aquatics Supervisor or designate, the Aquatics Lifeguard performs lifeguarding functions as well as minor maintenance.  This is an entry-level training position and no previous experience as a lifeguard is required. A lifeguard will work with an experienced lifeguard for the first 528 hours, after which they will be able to work independently.

Requirements:

  • Current National Lifeguard Award (Pool Option).
  • Current Standard First Aid with CPR C/AED.
  • Compliance with and approval of a Criminal Record Search with Vulnerable Sector.
  • Instructor certification is not required for this position.

What You’ll Do:

  1. Provide lifeguarding duties such as guarding, cleaning, administration and inspections.
  2. Ensure that all necessary equipment is in good working order and ready for immediate or emergency use.
  3. Be responsible for their uniform and contents of their own fanny pack.
  4. Monitor and record pool conditions when necessary.
  5. Maintain good housekeeping in all areas of the pool.

$32.68 after probation
