The City of Dawson Creek invites applications for a permanent part-time Lifeguard/Instructor II position. Under the general supervision of the Aquatics Coordinator or designate, a Lifeguard/Instructor II performs lifeguarding duties, as well as minor maintenance, and provides instruction in several aquatic programs and skills at the Kenn Borek Aquatic Centre.

Requirements

Requirements:

  • Current National Lifeguard Award (Pool Option).
  • Current Lifesaving Society Swim for Life Instructor Certification.
  • Current Lifesaving Instructor Certification.
  • Current Standard First Aid, Level C CPR (OFA Level 1 equivalent).
  • Pool Operator Certification Level 1.
  • Completion of Grade 12, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 1000 hours of experience as a Lifeguard/Instructor.

What You’ll Do:

  • Supervise and coordinate lifeguard activities and rotations.
  • Ensure the safety of patrons by actively scanning designated areas and responding to emergencies.
  • Provide guidance and support to the lifeguard team members.
  • Conduct regular equipment checks and maintaining a safe aquatic environment.
  • Enforce facility rules and regulations to promote a secure and enjoyable experience for all patrons.
Salary & Benefits

$39.10 after probation
