What You’ll Do
Reporting to the Director, Human Services, the Housing Facilities Manager is responsible for overall operational management of the physical assets of the division, as well as all housing facilities-related services and programs. The Manager leads the facilities employees and ensures compliance with all housing and safety related legislation and regulations. The role involves close collaboration with corporate departmental teams to coordinate resources, unify standards and best practices, leverage software and technology, and ensure alignment with the well-being of tenants.
Experience & Education
- Three-year post-secondary diploma in Building Technology, Engineering Technology, Building Construction, Facilities Management or a related field
- Facilities Manager accreditation
- Five years of experience in a related industry, preferably in community housing, two of which were in management role
Skills & Abilities
- Advanced knowledge of a variety of regulations, policies and directives pertaining to safe working conditions and contract administration (ie. Ontario Building Code, Fire Code, Electrical Safety Code, and Occupational Health and Safety Act).
- Experience with budget preparation and management
- Ability to supervise and motivate a team to achieve and exceed their goals
- Ability to plan, organize, develop, implement, and interpret goals, objectives, and policies
- Sound analytical thinking, planning, prioritization, and execution skills
- Ability to delegate, set expectations, and monitor progress of all direct reports
- Demonstrated time management skills
- Effective leadership skills, with a strong focus on mentoring and motivation of employees
- Solid negotiation, conflict resolution, and people management skills
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driver’s abstract
- Clean Vulnerable Sector Criminal Reference Check
- Audiometric Testing completed within 90 days of starting position
- Knowledge of HVAC equipment, computerized building management systems, electrical systems distribution, fire alarm and sprinkler systems, emergency generator operations etc.
- Computer skills including Excel/Word/Outlook. Proficiency in Yardi software or similar property management systems
- Competitive Salary: $106,688-$125,525 per hour
- Hours per week: 35 hours
