About the Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly motivated Accountant to join our Finance Team. In this role you will play a crucial part in ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of the company’s financial reporting. As a key member of our team, you will oversee daily accounting operations, create financial entries and reconciliations, and contribute to internal and external audits. You will collaborate with professionals to analyze financial data and work with business unit leaders to ensure the reliable and cost-effective delivery of essential services. Key Responsibilities

  • Reconcile balance sheet accounts through continuity schedules
  • Process financial transactions for month-end closing
  • Track inventory quantities and costs, ensuring accurate purchase cost assignment
  • Assist in preparing and analyzing monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements
  • Contribute to quarterly Audit & Risk Committee reports
  • Support the annual budgeting process, including consolidating budget templates
  • Aid in internal and external audits by preparing documentation, responding to inquiries and implementing audit recommendations
  • Assist with long-term financial forecasting and cash flow management
  • Perform other duties as required
Requirements

Qualifications and Required Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field
  • CPA designation (Canada) or nearing completion
  • Minimum of four years’ experience in accounting performing the key responsibilities 
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Excel & Word) 
  • Experience with Microsoft Business Central is considered an asset
