The successful candidate will have strong leadership skills to support and mentor a team of Aquatic Instructors, Lifeguards, Team Leaders, and Aquatic Technicians. Key skills include: organizational abilities, timeliness, strong customer service and problem-solving skills, adaptability, effective communication, and leadership.
Requirements include a two-year post-secondary diploma in recreation, leisure studies or a related field; two years of experience in program planning and staff supervision; Valid Class 5 BC Driver's Licence as required and a satisfactory Police Information Check with Vulnerable Sector check no older than 6 months.
The following certifications are required and must be current:
- National Lifeguard Certification – Waterpark
- Standard First Aid with CPR C
The following certifications are considered an asset:
- Lifesaving Society National Lifeguard Instructor
- Lifesaving Society Lifesaving Instructor (LSI)
- First Aid Instructor
The successful candidate will work varying shifts based on program needs including evenings and weekends during times when lesson programs are running (hours/shifts are subject to change).
