Foothills County encompasses a diverse rural landscape located in the foothills of southern Alberta with our administrative office in High River, AB. Reporting to the Manager of Finance, the Financial Accountant is responsible for ensuring complete and accurate recording and reporting of information to all general ledger accounts, reconciliations, and Inter-Municipal billings within the Finance Department and provide support to all areas of Finance.
To be successful in this position you will need:
- An undergraduate degree with a concentration in accounting and finance.
- A candidate working towards the Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation or a recently graduated CPA.
- Strong technical skills in evaluating, investigating, and interpreting budgets and planning and forecasting information. Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.
- Minimum of three (3) years’ experience.
- Exceptional time management skills.
- Must be analytical with accurate data input skills and be detail oriented.
- Strong computer and Database management skills and experience with WorkTech/Pearl and Great Plains Dynamics would be considered an asset.
