• Design and manage construction of infrastructure at landfills and other facilities, including preparation of construction drawings, obtaining all required approvals, materials listing and tendering specifications for construction contracts.
• Report on projects including progress report, tangible capital asset, and work breakdown structure.
• Develop Terms of Reference and direct consultants involved in studies and projects related to Utilities Delivery infrastructure and asset management.
Qualifications
• A degree in Engineering.
• You must have at least 3 years of relevant professional engineering experience obtained after receiving your P. Eng. Designation and a current licensure as a Professional Engineer with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta (APEGA) complete with practicing status OR licensure and practicing status by the first day of work. • Experience in civil engineering design and environmental engineering projects is required.
• Training or practical experience in solid waste management, environmental monitoring and data interpretation is also required.
• A valid Class 5 Driver's License (or provincial equivalent) with no more than 6 demerits, or a Class 5 Graduated Driver's License (GDL) with no more than 4 demerits, with no current suspensions or charges pending.
• Access to a personal vehicle for occasional business use is required.
• Previous experience with project management, and/or asset management will be considered an asset.
• Strong analytical skills, accuracy and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills and demonstrated leadership, negotiation and time management skills.
• Ability to obtain a City of Calgary Operator's permit.
