A degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering or a related Engineering field. • You must have at least 6 years of relevant professional engineering experience obtained after receiving your P. Eng. Designation and a current licensure as a Professional Engineer with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta (APEGA) complete with practicing status OR licensure and practicing status by the first day of work. Click here for more details. • A valid Class 5 Driver's License (or provincial equivalent) with no more than 6 demerits, no current suspensions or charges pending and access to a personal vehicle for business use is required. • Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint) is required. • A strong background and keen interest in water utilities, demonstrated knowledge and experience with water treatment processes and distribution systems, current design standards and legislations related to the water utility is essential. • Experience with engineering service agreements, procurement and construction contracts is preferred. • Previous experience in municipal engineering, preferably planning and design of water/wastewater treatment and distribution systems, tendering, contract management, and project management will be an asset. • Certification as a Project Management Professional (PMP) will be an asset. • Demonstrated ability to manage large capital infrastructure projects or programs, familiarity with alternative delivery models (e.g., CMAR, PDB, IPD, P3), and ability to lead a multi-disciplinary team within a large complex organization. • Strong written and verbal communication skills with previous experience working with a variety of audiences (e.g., Technical, Senior Management, Elected Officials, and the public). • Success in this position requires strong organizational skills, strategic and critical thinking; attention to detail and accuracy, good judgement and diplomacy under pressure; demonstrated leadership ability; tolerance for ambiguity, shifting priorities and complex situations; and the ability to establish and maintain strong and positive working relationships. • Applicants with less experience may be considered at a developmental level with a modified salary.
