Description
The District of Saanich is seeking an experienced, innovative, and professional Public Works Supervisor to lead and organize teams responsible for the installation of infrastructure that supports development throughout the district. This Supervisor role is integral to our Engineering Operations Division and requires a proactive individual who can foster a collaborative work environment. The Supervisor of Development & Utility Infrastructure will coordinate closely with our development team to ensure seamless integration of projects, managing them from the planning stages through execution. This includes developing effective processes for monitoring project budgets, estimates, and timelines to ensure they align with district standards and resources. The role demands strong leadership skills to motivate teams and excellent communication capabilities to build and maintain robust relationships with the development team and other stakeholders. A safety conscious mindset, a desire for continuous improvement and the ability to direct day-to-day operations are essential.

Requirements

Requirements include: Grade 12 or equivalent; a two year diploma in related field; Level III EOCP Certification in Water Distribution and/or Wastewater Collection Systems ordemonstrated equivalent knowledge through a combination of acquired related experience and education; five years progressive experience working with a government agency or private contractor doing work directly related to water and storm & wastewater infrastructure; Experience in project management including planning, budgeting, cost estimating and scheduling; minimum of one year supervisory experience in a related operational area; and a valid Class 5 Driver’s Licence. Candidates with an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

The successful candidates will be required to work Monday to Friday from 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. (40 hours per week). As a component of the selection process, testing will be conducted. Only those under consideration will be contacted. We thank all applicants for applying.

Salary & Benefits
