Do you have experience yet not want to be tied down to a Monday to Friday schedule? Are you looking for a flexible work schedule and enjoy project work? If so, Saanich is seeking a Planning Analyst 1 to serve for up to 18 weeks in the Current Planning department to do project work and performing entry-level professional work while providing technical assistance and information to staff and the public regarding community planning, housing and development programs.

Requirements

Requirements include: 

  • Master’s degree in Planning or a related discipline. Candidates currently enrolled in an accredited planning program will be considered.
  • 3 months of experience in planning research, data analysis or public engagement.
  • Eligible for membership in the Canadian Institute of Planners and the Planning Institute of BC.  
  • Knowledge of the principles and practices of planning, including cross-functional knowledge involving other disciplines, e.g. engineering, recreational design principles.
  • Proficiency in various software applications including: Adobe Creative Suites and Microsoft Office, including Word and PowerPoint. 
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills and strong interpersonal and facilitation skills are required. 
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Salary & Benefits

This is a C.U.P.E. Local 2011 position with a wage of $40.73 per hour with 15% in lieu of benefits. Job description and competition information can be found at www.saanich.ca.
