Description
The Concrete Finisher is responsible for skilled finishing work on concrete projects such as sidewalks, curbs, and gutters, using standard tools. Key duties include building forms, ordering materials, and ensuring compliance with City standards. The employee will receive instructions and must complete routine paperwork. Working safely and following all safety regulations is essential. The role requires independent judgment for specialized tasks, and the work is physically demanding, with quality and quantity monitored by a supervisor.

Requirements

To qualify, you must have completed Grade 12 and possess three years of experience in concrete finishing work. Candidates should demonstrate considerable expertise in the methods, materials, tools, and equipment used in concrete finishing. A strong understanding of the standard specifications related to concrete construction work is also required. Additionally, applicants should have a solid knowledge of concrete mixtures applicable to various projects and under varying weather conditions. A valid, full privilege Class 5 BC driver’s license (or out of province equivalent) is required. This term position is expected to last longer than three months.

Salary & Benefits

Enjoy a competitive wage of $40.91 per hour plus 12% in lieu of benefits. Term positions expected to last 6 months or longer are eligible for benefits.
