Reporting to the Deputy City Manager, Housing and Community Growth, the Director, Municipal Compliance is responsible for development and implementing the strategic direction and overall management and leadership of the Municipal Compliance Division and the provision of By-Law enforcement services by the City of London. The Municipal Compliance Division operates on the municipal principals of health and safety; consumer protection; nuisance control; crime prevention and community quality of life. The Municipal Compliance Division implements Council’s By-laws focusing on engagement, education and enforcement.
As a Senior Leader with the Corporation, the Director, Municipal Compliance fosters an enterprise-wide approach to ensure consistency and collective delivery in support of the strategic priorities of the Division, Service Area and Corporate strategic plan.
Business Areas Reporting to the Position:
- Parking Services and Compliance – noise enforcement and parking enforcement / supply management.
- Licensing, Policy and Special Operations
- Community Compliance - Enforcement services related to community by-laws
- Animal Welfare Services - Animal shelter, animal hospital and adoption services
Qualifications:
- Completion of a University Degree in Land Use Planning, Law Enforcement Administration, Public Administration, or an equivalent.
- Ten years senior level experience in Municipal Law Enforcement and/or Land Use Planning including direct supervision of multi-disciplinary teams.
- Certification by the Ontario Association of Property Standards Officers or Municipal Law Enforcement Association is required.
Compensation & Other Information:
$130,451 to $171,411
This posting is for one (1) permanent, full-time position.
Standard hours of Work: Monday - Friday from 8:30a.m. to 4:30p.m.
Work Arrangement: Hybrid
These hours of work are subject to change in accordance to business requirements.
