Description
The Parks Division is seeking a temporary part time Parks Worker to perform a variety of manual tasks in the management of park areas in the Urban Forestry section of our Parks Division. The Parks Worker I will perform activities such as tree watering, pruning, weeding, mulching and integrated pest management.

Requirements

Requirements include: Grade 12 or equivalent; one accredited course related to the work common to the Parks Division from a recognized post-secondary institution; six months recent previous experience in the works of a Parks Division; B.C. Pesticide Applicator’s Certificate; valid Class 5 B.C. Driver’s Licence and a satisfactory Police Information Check with Vulnerable Sector check (PIC-VS). Candidates with an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

The successful candidates will work Thursday, Friday, and Monday 12:00 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. and Saturday and Sundays from 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.

Salary & Benefits

These are C.U.P.E. Local 2011 positions with a wage of $32.79 per hour plus 15% in lieu of benefits.
